Allen Americans @ Alaska Aces- 10:15 PM, Sullivan Arena
Head-To-Head - The Allen Americans dropped a 5-1 decision to the Alaska Aces on Wednesday night, with Chad Costello scoring the lone Americans goal. The two clubs will play three more times this season.
Leading the Way - Chad Costello leads the ECHL with 65 points in 48 games. Costello also leads the ECHL in power play points with 25, as well as assists with 46.
Looking to Rebound - The Americans pulled starter Joel Rumpel after giving up four goals on nine shots in two periods against the Alaska Aces on Wednesday night. Rumpel is expected to get the call in net this evening for game two of the three-game series.
Road Funk - The Americans have dropped three straight road games dating back to January 26th in Tulsa. In those three road losses, the Americans have scored a total of three goals.
Returning Americans- Vincent Arseneau and Spencer Asuchak both made their return to the Americans lineup on Wednesday night. Arseneau had been dealing with a hand injury, while Asuchak had been playing in the American Hockey League with the Chicago Wolves.
Alaska Notes - The Aces, who are under .500 at home this season, won for just the 11th time at the Sullivan Center on Wednesday night. Alaska will be without their goal-scoring leader,Tim Coffman (15), who was placed on the 21-day IR yesterday. The Aces have also traded for goalie Jacob DeSerres from Adirondack.
