OVERTIME MAGIC
The Evansville IceMen defeated their Midwest Division-leading rival Fort Wayne 3-2 in overtime Tuesday at the Ford Center. After the IceMen jumped out to a 2-0 lead, the Komets answered twice in the second period to tie the game. Evansville goalie Scott Greenham made 41 saves in the game, including 15 in the third period, and Troy Rutkowski provided the heroic game-winning goal with one minute left in overtime.
HOBBS GOES UP, DUNN RETURNS
Forward Danny Hobbs was called back up to the AHL's Binghamton Senators Thursday, after compiling 12 points (7 goals, 5 assists) in 13 games for the IceMen. The Shawville, QC native recorded four multi-point games, and had 10 points in his last nine contests, including a goal and an assist. In return, 20-year-old rookie Vincent Dunn comes back to the IceMen, where he totaled 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists) in 34 games. The forward from Hull, QC skated in three games for the BSens in what was his first professional call-up.
