Eagles Add Offensive Weapons in Gogol, Ringrose

(Windsor, CO) - The Colorado Eagles announced Friday that they have signed forwards Curt Gogol and Sean Ringrose to Standard Player Contracts for the remainder of the 2015-16 season. Gogol, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward joins the Eagles after starting the season with the Ontario Reign of the AHL. Ringrose, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound center joins the Eagles after spending the 2014-15 season overseas with Villacher SV in Austria and the Dundee Stars of the EIHL.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Gogol has posted 15 goals and nine assists in 23 ECHL games with the Alaska Aces during the 2014-15 season. In addition, he has appeared in 179 AHL contests with the Reign, Worcester Sharks and Iowa Wild, generating 15 goals, 10 assists and 663 penalty minutes.

Gogol captured a WHL Championship at the major-junior level, helping the Kelowna Rockets to the title in 2009. In five WHL seasons with Kelowna, Chilliwack and Saskatoon, the 24 year-old notched 26 points and 494 penalty minutes in 169 games.

Ringrose comes to Colorado after posting 23 points in 34 games with the Dundee Stars, including nine goals.

Prior to launching his professional career, the Edmonton, Alberta native generated 145 points (60 goals- 85 assists) in 136 games at the University of Alberta, where he served as the Golden Bears captain during the 2013-14 campaign. He would conclude his collegiate career with a cumulative plus-minus rating of +74.

Ringrose helped the Golden Bears capture a CIS National Championship in 2014 and was named to the CIS West All-Star Team in both 2012 and 2014. In addition, he was named to the CIS All-Rookie Team in 2010, the CIS All-Canadian Team in 2014 and won the UBC Hockey Alumni Trophy for Sportsmanship and Ability in 2011 and 2014.

Ringrose also enjoyed a very productive two-year stint in the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers, recording 38 goals and 55 assists in 140 contests, including a 2008-09 season that saw him notch 28 goals in 72 games.

Gogol and Ringrose are expected to join the Eagles as they travel to take on the Rapid City Rush at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center at 7:05pm MST on Friday.
