Oklahoma City, Okla. - Doug Davis shut down the Oklahoma City RedHawks (44-32) over six innings to lead the Omaha Storm Chasers (47-30) to a 6-2 win in front of 4,498 on Sunday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The former RedHawk Davis (3-1), who played for Oklahoma City for parts of five seasons, threw six scoreless innings while giving up four hits and two walks. Davis had six strikeouts and lowered his ERA to 3.08 and received his third win of the season. It was his first start in Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark since April 20, 2003.
The Storm Chasers struck first on Anthony Seratelli's solo home run in the top of the first. Seratelli's 12th home run of the year landed on the outfield grass behind the Omaha bullpen in right field to give Omaha a 1-0 lead.
RedHawks starter Paul Clemens ran into trouble in the third inning, loading the bases with one out. Omaha's Derrick Robinson scored on an RBI-single by Tony Abreu, but Clemens avoided major trouble and got out of the inning down, 2-0.
The Storms Chasers increased their lead in the fifth with a two-run triple by David Lough to make it 4-0. Clemens (8-6) finished seven innings for Oklahoma City, giving up 4 runs on eight hits and three walks.
