Matt Adams had three hits, including two home runs, and three RBI as the Memphis Redbirds cruised to a 11-2 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Sunday afternoon.

Adams belted a solo home run off Zephyrs starter Alex Sanabia in the top of the first, then added a two-run shot off J.D. Martin in the sixth. He added a double as part of a two-run fourth inning, which put the Redbirds ahead 8-0.

Memphis jumped all over Sanabia, who had won each of his previous three starts but could not make it out of the third inning on Sunday. Steven Hill led off the second with a home run, and the Redbirds knocked Sanabia from the game in a four-run third inning rally.

With one out in the third, Mark Hamilton drew a walk and Zack Cox was hit by a pitch. Hill laced a single to left-center to drive in a run, and Bryan Anderson followed with a three-run homer into the pool beyond the right field wall, giving Memphis a 6-0 advantage.

Redbirds starter Brandon Dickson had little trouble against the Zephyrs, yielding only an RBI single to Chris Aguila in the fourth inning. Dickson (3-7) gave up one run and eight hits in seven innings to pick up his firs twin since May 2. Dickson had lost each of his last six starts.

Hill and Anderson joined Adams with three-hit efforts. Hill scored three runs and drove in two more, helping the Redbirds to just their fourth victory in 14 games against New Orleans this season.

Sanabia (6-5) allowed six runs on eight hits in 2 1/3 innings to take the loss. J.D. Martin surrendered four more runs in 3 2/3 innings of relief.

The Redbirds and Zephyrs resume the four-game series on Monday at 7 p.m. The Z's will start left-hander Brad Hand against Memphis southpaw John Gast .
