David Oliver Re-Called by Dallas

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH * The Utah Grizzlies National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate, the Dallas Stars, announced today that they have re-called right wing David Oliver from the Grizzlies.

Oliver, 32, has 17 points (5-12 *17) in 31 games with Utah this season ranking him second on the club. The Sechelt, British Columbia native has played 194 career NHL games scoring 42 goals with 44 assists. Last year in six regular season games with Dallas, Oliver registered three assists. He also played in six 2003 Stanley Cup Playoff games for Dallas.

The 6-0, 195-pound forward was originally drafted by Edmonton in the seventh round (144th overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Oliver's best season came with the Oilers during the 1995-96 season when he scored 20 goals with 19 assists.

Oliver played his collegiate hockey at the University of Michigan where he scored 107 goals with 98 assists in 152 games with the Wolverines. His outstanding collegiate resume includes the 1994 CCHA Player of the Year and he was a 1994 NCAA First Team All-American.

The Grizzlies will be without Oliver tonight when they play game the final regular season game versus the Manitoba Moose in the Winnipeg Arena. Face-off is scheduled for 6:30 PM (mst).
