January 3, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins rebounded from a loss on Friday night to skate to a 3-1 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Saturday night at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. The win improved the Bruins' record to 17-12-8-0 (42 points), keeping them one point behind the Atlantic Division-leading Hartford Wolf Pack.
Bruin right wing Carl Corazinni continued his torrid pace, scoring two first period goals, including an unassisted shorthanded goal that proved to be the game-winner. He now has a team season-high four-game goal streak, and leads the team with 12 goals overall. Corazzini has 6-1-7 totals over his last six games, including three shorthanded goals, two power play goals and two game-winning goals. He also leads the AHL with four shorthanded goals.
Bruin captain Rich Brennan added his fifth goal of the season, with an assist from Rob Zamuner. Goaltender Tim Thomas stopped 36 shots and is 8-6-5 on the season.
