Bears and Pirates Skate to Rare 0-0 Tie in Portland

The BEARS were involved in a 0-0 tie for the first time since February 5, 1972 Saturday night with the Portland Pirates at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The BEARS did not record a shot in the game for the first 8:14 of the first period after being outshot 19-2 in the third period the evening before in Hartford. HERSHEY was outshot 8-4 in a scoreless first period. The BEARS would have only eight shots through two periods but fire 13 in the third on Rastislav Stanay Civic Center. Lawson earned his second shutout of the season.

The BEARS remain unbeaten in their last three, and now play at Bridgeport Sunday. Face-off is at 4:05 p.m.
