CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Defenseman Mark Popovic was assigned to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Saturday.
Popovic, a second-round pick by Anaheim in 2001, appeared in his first NHL game Friday in Buffalo, going scoreless in 13:48 of ice time. The 6-foot-1, 212-pounder has played 28 games with Cincinnati this season, recording one goal and one assist with 20 penalty minutes.
The 21-year-old Stoney Creek, Ontario native was recalled Friday by Anaheim from Cincinnati.
