David LeNeveu Shines But Late Surge For Grizzlies Falls Short

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH- Offense was tough to find on Wednesday night at the 'E' Center as the Grizzlies and the San Antonio Rampage skated to a 1-0 decision in favor of the Rampage. Chris Nielsen scored the only goal of the game earning his second goal of the season in as many nights.

San Antonio outshot the Grizzlies in all three periods with the most glaring stat the 7-3 deferential in the third period in favor of the Rampage.

San Antonio goaltender Patrick DesRoachers made 22 saves in the game including four outstanding saves in the second period one especially stood out a robbery of Peter White on the doorstep keeping his team on top 1-0. Utah also had the opportunity with a 4-on-3 power play in the second frame that generated several chances but DesRoachers came up big.

David LeNeveu made 32 saves taking the hard-luck loss. It was the second time this year that LeNeveu has taking the wrong end of a 1-0 decision.

The win snapped the Rampage's four game winless streak and it ended the Grizzlies five-game home stand with Utah posting a 1-4 record.

The Grizzlies will travel to Houston to play the Houston Aeros on Friday night. Face-off is scheduled for 6:30 Pm (mt).
