W-B/S Penguins Assign Defenseman Darcy Robinson to Wheeling

Wilkes-Barre, PA. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today assigned defenseman Darcy Robinson to their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. The announcement was made by Penguins' Head Coach Michel Therrien.

Robinson, 23, has appeared in five games with the Penguins this season, going scoreless with 31 penalty minutes.

The 6'3", 215-pound native of Kamloops, British Columbia has appeared in 150 career games with the Penguins, recording 21 points (3+18) and 219 penalty minutes. In 11 career games with Wheeling, he has recorded six points (2+4) and 43 penalty minutes.

Robinson was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the eighth round (233rd overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft

He is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Nailers (7-6-0, 14 points; 2 ND-Place, North Division) host the Dayton Bombers (5-6-0, 10 points; 7TH-Place, North Division). Game time is set for 7 p.m. at WesBanco Arena.

The Penguins (7-4-4-2, 20 points; 3RD –Place, East Division) host the Hartford Wolf Pack (10-3-1-1, 22 points; 2ND-Place, Atlantic Division) at 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.

Approximately 265 tickets are still available for tonight's game.
