Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Wednesday that the NHL's Dallas Stars have re-assigned goaltender Tyler Beskorowany to the Idaho Steelheads.

Beskorowany, who had been playing with the AHL's Texas Stars, will be in net Wednesday night when the Steelheads take on the Utah Grizzlies at Qwest Arena.

In his last six appearances with Texas, Beskorowany was 4-2 with a 1.85 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage. The 20-year-old opened the season in the ECHL with Idaho, posting a 2.27 goals-against average and .932 save percentage in ten games before he was called up to Texas in November. All three numbers - goals-against, save percentage, and games played - were among the ECHL leaders at the time of his recall.

Beskorowany was a second-round draft choice of the Dallas Stars (no. 59 overall) in 2008.

To make room for Beskorowany on the roster, goaltender Mike Zacharias has been released by the Steelheads. Zacharias was 7-7-5 with a .907 save percentage in 20 appearances with the Steelheads.

Idaho (ECHL) is the development affiliate of the Texas Stars (American Hockey League) and Dallas Stars (National Hockey League).

The Steelheads will be back at Qwest Arena on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to face the Bakersfield Condors. A group night with the Steelheads is a great way to celebrate the New Year with family, friends, and co-workers - and you can save money on ticket prices too.
