Six Players Added to ECHL All-Star Roster

PRINCETON, N.J. ‚¬" The ECHL announced on Wednesday that Andy Bohmbach of the Toledo Walleye, Michael Forney of the Gwinnett Gladiators, Blake Parlett and Marc-Olivier Vallerand of the Greenville Road Warriors, Evgeny Timkin of the Florida Everblades and Ryan Turek of the Victoria Salmon Kings have been added to the ECHL All-Stars roster for the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM and brought to you by Mercy & Memorial Hospitals.

Bohmbach replaces Peter Leblanc of Toledo, who is currently in the American Hockey League with Rockford; Forney replaces Aaron Bendickson of Gwinnett, who returned to school; Parlett replaces Julien Brouillette of Grenville, who is currently with Lake Erie of the American Hockey League; Vallerand replaces Brendan Connolly of Greenville, who is injured; Timkin replaces Mitch Fadden of Florida, who is injured; and Turek replaces P.J. Atherton of Victoria, who signed with a team in Europe.

The 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM and brought to you by Mercy & Memorial Hospitals will be hosted by the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena and played on Jan. 26, 2011. This year's format features the host team taking on a team of ECHL All-Stars.

A rookie out of the University of Wisconsin, Bohmbach leads Toledo, and is fourth among ECHL rookies, with 16 goals and 34 points in 36 games.

Selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the third round (80th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Forney leads Gwinnett with 38 points (10g-28a) in 39 games. His 28 assists are fifth in the league.

Parlett is tied for third among ECHL defensemen 23 points (6g-17a) in 34 games while Vallerand leads Greenville, and is fifth among league rookies, with 15 goals.

Timkin is in his first season in North America after playing the previous two seasons in the KHL. He has five assists and 34 penalty minutes in 29 games.

A fourth round selection (94th overall) of the St. Louis Blues in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Turek has 18 points (5g-13a) in 33 games for the Salmon Kings this season.

There have been 53 players from the All-Star Game who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 37 since 2002 when the lineups began having players who coaches felt were prospects to move up to a higher level.

The fourth class will be inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame on Jan. 26, 2011 during a luncheon ceremony presented by BFL Canada and the Bakersfield Convention & Visitors Bureau at the Marriott Bakersfield Hotel, the official host hotel of the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic. Three-time National Hockey League All-Star, and current Toronto Maple Leafs Vice President of Hockey Operations Dave Poulin, will serve as the keynote speaker at the luncheon.

Tickets for the luncheon are $40 each or a table with seven tickets can be purchased for $250. Fans can purchase tickets by downloading the Luncheon Ticket Order Form or by calling the Condors Office at (661) 324-7825.

The ECHL All-Star Fan Fest presented by Bank of the Sierra, will be held at the Marriott Bakersfield Hotel on Tuesday, Jan. 25 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tickets for the Fan Fest can be purchased by calling the Condors at (661) 324-7825.

The past eight ECHL All-Star Games have generated more than $1 million each for the local economy as guests, players, coaches and fans occupy hundreds of hotel rooms and spend three days in the host city.

The game has been available live on the NHL Network the last eight years as well as being broadcast on multiple regional networks. The audio broadcast will be carried on XM Satellite Radio as well as being available on 970 AM Fox Sports Radio in Bakersfield, Calif., 1350 KTIK The Ticket in Boise, Idaho, KJQS-AM 1230 in Salt Lake City and Fox Sports Radio 1230-WCWA in Toledo, Ohio.

The Stanley Cup and the Patrick J. Kelly Cup will both be on display throughout the event, marking the 11th time in the last 12 years that the NHL championship trophy and the ECHL championship trophy have been displayed together at the All-Star Game.
