Goaltender Ford Recalled to Hershey

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach Cail MacLean announced today that goaltender Todd Ford has been called up to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Ford, 26, appeared in 18 games with the Stingrays this season going 11-6-1 with a .903 save percentage and ranks 13 in the ECHL with a 2.69 goals-against average. Last season, the Calgary, AB native went 18-7-2 with the Stingrays and ranked fifth in the ECHL with a 2.79 goals-against average and second with a .910 save percentage. A third round draft pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Ford was named the 2010 ECHL Goaltender of the Year, voted a starting goaltender in the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game and was selected to the First Team All-ECHL team. Ford skated in two games with the Bears earlier this season going 1-0-0 with a 3.27 GAA and .870 save percentage.

Ford dressed in 15 games in the AHL last season with Texas and Portland, going 7-5-1 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.51 and a save percentage of .920.
