Everblades Timkin Named to ECHL All-Star Team

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades in conjunction with the ECHL announced today that forward Evgeny Timkin has been named to the ECHL All-Star Team as a replacement for the injured Mitch Fadden.

Timkin, who is in his first full season in North America, has five points in 29 games with the Everblades this season. The 20-year-old spent last season with Avangard Omsk of the Russian Kontinental Hockey League. While with Omsk, the top Russian league, he was a teammate of former National Hockey League star Jaromir Jagr and posted three assists in 20 regular season games.

The native of Murmansk, Russia also participated in the Under-20 World Junior Championships last year picking up one assist in six tournament games for the Russian squad.

Following the U-20 World Junior Championship Timkin was ranked ninth in The Hockey News' Hot List poll of top prospects.

The 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM and brought to you by Mercy & Memorial Hospitals will be hosted by the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena and played on Jan. 26, 2011. This year's format features the host team taking on a team of ECHL All-Stars.
