Stockton Thunder News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced right winger Chris Lawrence has been returned to the Thunder from his loan to the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League on a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Lawrence, 23, was originally signed by Worcester to his tryout contract on Jan. 3, leaving the Thunder as the team's leader in scoring with 23 points (9g-14a) in 27 games this season, additionally posting 40 penalty minutes.
He scored a goal and added 15 penalty minutes in six games with the Sharks.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound forward was an invite to Worcester training camp earlier this season and was selected in the third round (89th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
