Daavettila Heads To Grand Rapids

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce forward Trent Daavettila (daav-UH-till-uh) has been loaned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL.

Daavettila being loaned to Grand Rapids marks the seventh time this season that a member of the K-Wings has been sent up to the AHL.

Through 29 games this season, Daavettila ranks second on the K-Wings in scoring with 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists). The native of Howell Michigan ended 2010 on a tear, notching points in 14 out of the K-Wings last 15 contests.

Last season, Daavettila, who is a three-year pro, appeared in 15 AHL games, including two with the Griffins.

Kalamazoo will return to action tonight, Saturday, January 1st at Wings Stadium with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Elmira Jackals.

Tonight Claude "The Happy Trumpeter" will literally be tooting his own horn as the celebrity during the K-Wings Saturday "Celebrity" Series. Also this evening, one lucky fan that posted their New Year's Eve Resolution video on the K-Wings' You Tube channel will win a great prize, which will be announced at the game. The winning fan must be in attendance tonight to be eligible to win.

Single-game tickets for all regular season home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office.
