IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals try to open the 2011 slate of this season's schedule with a victory at Kalamazoo as they take on the K-Wings at 7:30 p.m.

COULOMBE CLOSE TO 20

Patrick Coulombe broke a tie for third place among ECHL defensemen in points last night with his sixth goal of the season and 19th point in the first period. The fifth-year pro leads Jackals blue-liners in points and one more goal or assist would give Coulombe his fourth-straight 20-point season.

COWICK KEEPS IT UP

After scoring his first professional goal on Wednesday, Corey Cowick added his name to the score sheet again with a shot from the slot just under seven minutes into the first period on Friday. Cowick's bid deflected off of the right shoulder of K-Wings goaltender Riley Gill and into the net to put Elmira up 2-1.
