
Cyclones Warm up for Playoffs with 5-3 Victory

Johnstown, PA -- The Cincinnati Cyclones closed out the regular season with a 5-3 win over the Johnstown Chiefs on Sunday afternoon in Johnstown, PA.
In the first period, Cincinnati had goals from Joe Cardarelli and Nick Bootland to take a 2-1 lead after twenty minutes.
Johnstown would tie the game at 2-2 when they scored just 51 seconds into the second period. That's when the Cyclones would erupt for three unanswered goals to claim a 5-2 lead after two periods.
The Chiefs added a third-period goal to make the final 5-3. The Cyclones were led by Cardarelli (2g), Aaron Brand (3a), and Mike Casselman (1g, 2a).
Cincinnati will meet either Peoria or Toledo in the opening round of the 2003 Kelly Cup Playoffs, pending the results of those games played later today. The Cyclones will host Game 3 of either series on Saturday at U.S. Bank Arena at 7:05 PM.
