Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones have signed forward Andrew Yogan for the 2015-2016 season. Yogan saw action in four games last season for the Cyclones before being called up to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL).
"Andrew is a strong, solid forward that has shown his abilities for us in his short stint with us last season," said Cyclones Head Coach Matt MacDonald. "He has great hockey IQ, and has the ability to make players around him better. This is a big signing for our team heading into the season."
Drafted in the fourth round by the New York Rangers in 2010, Yogan made his presence felt early last season, netting points in each of his four games played. He capped off his stint in the Queen City with a monster four-point outing (1g, 3a) in a 5-4 win over Quad City on November 1. Overall, Yogan accounted a pair of goals and five assists, along with a +5 on-ice rating with the 'Clones.
The Coral Springs, FL, native spent the remainder of the 2014-2015 season with the Rampage, where he accounted totaled eight goals and an assist in 43 games played.
While his ECHL service has been short, he is averaging nearly a point per game, accounting for 34 points (18g, 16a) over 35 ECHL contests with the Cyclones and the Greenville Road Warriors. In 2013-14, Yogan led the Road Warriors to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they fell, 4 games to 2, to the Cyclones. He recorded seven goals and 11 assists in 17 playoff games that season, leading the team in scoring.
Since turning pro in 2012, Yogan has spent the majority of his time in the AHL, seeing time with the Connecticut Whale/Hartford Wolf Pack, in addition to the Rampage. In 132 career AHL games, Yogan has accounted for 22 goals and 18 assists for 40 points.
The countdown to the 2015-16 First Face-Off is underway! The Cyclones will return to U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, October 17 when they host the Toledo Walleye at 7:30pm.
