Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas -The three-time AA Champion Allen Americans will be a part of the Cooper Triathlon Series at Craig Ranch in McKinney this Saturday, September 12th at 7:30 am at Americans partner, Cooper Fitness.
2015 ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Team President, Matt Canavan has issued a challenge to all of the Allen Americans players, Americans staff, Ice Angels Dance Team, Allen Event Center staff, season ticket holders and corporate sponsors.
The challenge is quite simple - beat Canavan in the Cooper Aerobic Center's sprint triathlon and win great prizes. The catch is that Canavan will have to do the entire triathlon with the 50 lb. Kelly Cup in tow. Canavan will be swimming, biking and running the entire race with the Kelly Cup. Prizes for season ticket holders and sponsors can include free tickets, free suite night, free commercial on the Americans broadcast, and more. This event has really turned into a day of team building, fitness fun and friendly competition.
The Americans will welcome seven relay teams to the event, including a team of Allen Americans players featuring Trevor Ludwig, who finished with the best overall time two years ago on the team, ECHL Scoring Champion Chad Costello, and second year Americans defenseman Kevin Young; The Allen Americans Ice Angels will be represented at Cooper; along with Allen Event Center staff with Allen Event Center Ice Operations Coordinator Kelly Dennis, who has competed in the event for 3 seasons.
"Our staff is excited to participate in the event again this season," said Dennis. "The camaraderie it creates is amazing."
As an added twist, the Allen Americans are offering a pair of tickets to a 2015-2016 season single game to all fans that can beat the Kelly Cup's finishing time.
Fans can join the Americans by registering online at ITS YOUR RACE. Awards will be presented to the top male and female winners, who will receive trophies, as well as additional prizes. There will be a free pancake breakfast poolside for all the participants following the race.
Cooper Aerobic Center in McKinney is the official training facility of the Allen Americans and is a founding corporate partner. The Americans players, staff and families have called Cooper home for almost 7 years.
