February 18, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced several roster moves today. The San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL) have recalled forward Justin Vaive. In addition, Cincinnati has loaned goaltender Brad Fogal to the Peoria Rivermen (AHL). Also today, the Cyclones have acquired forward Brent Clarke from the Kalamazoo Wings in exchange for future considerations. Finally, the team has signed forwards Luke Stauffacher and Dean Yakura.
Vaive will be making his first trip to the San Antonio Rampage this season. With the Cyclones in 2011-12, the rookie forward has earned 18 points in 37 games.
Fogal posted a 4-4-3 record this season with Cincinnati and a 2.78 goals-against average.
Clarke is back with the Cyclones for the second time this season. Earlier this year, he appeared in one game with Cincinnati but didn't register a point. Since then, he has logged 20 games with the Kalamazoo Wings where he notched a goal and an assist.
Stauffacher, a seventh-year pro, joins the Cyclones with 285 professional games under his belt. Most recently, he skated with the Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League where he posted eight points in 13 games last season. He had a career year in 2008-09 with the IHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks as he earned 80 points in 70 games.
Yakura started the season with the Danbury Dashers of the Federal Hockey League under Head Coach (and former Cyclone) Matt McIlvane. With the Dashers, Yakura was nearly a point-per-game player with 15 tallies in 16 contests. He logged five ECHL games last year with the Idaho Steelheads, earning one goal and two penalty minutes.
Cincinnati is on the road tonight as they visit the Chicago Express at 8:30pm ET. Fans can hear all the action of the tilt on the Cyclones Radio Network (1050-AM, America One) starting at 8:15pm ET.
The Cyclones will be back at U.S. Bank Arena this Monday, February 20, as they play host to the Gwinnett Gladiators at 2:00pm.
