Cyclones Lose at Reading, 5-3

READING, Pennsylvania - A three goal second period explosion was enough for Reading to take a 5-3 win from the Cincinnati Cyclones on Sunday afternoon. Thomas Beauregard had a goal and an assist in the loss for Cincinnati.

The Cyclones opened the scoring at 5:10 of the opening period when Olivier Latendresse collected his league-leading eleventh goal on a shot from the right slot. Latendresse capitalized on a turnover by a Royals player at the Cincinnati blueline. A power play goal by Reading's Dan Rudisuela at 12:29 levelled the scores. Less than 90 seconds later, at 13:58, Matt Syroczynski tallied his eighth goal of the season from Thomas Beauregard and Steve Makway to grab the lead at the intermission.

Reading scored all three goals in the second period to build a 4-2 lead. The first score came from Brock Hooton at 7:03, while Kirk MacDonald netted his fourth score at 13:42 and Matt Herneisen rounded out the barrage at 15:36. It was the seventh time this season that the Cyclones surrendered three or more goals in a period.

The Cyclones crawled back to within one at 17:27 when Thomas Beauregard netted his ninth of the season from Barret Ehgoetz and Makway. An empty net goal at 19:50 by Mac Faulkner closed out the scoring.

Danny Taylor collected the win, his third of the season, turning aside 37 shots. Kyle Gajewski absorbed the loss, stopping 29 shots,

The Cyclones are 4-5-3 on the season, while Reading is 4-9. Today's game was the final game of a three-game roadtrip. The club returns home for a Friday, November 21 contest versus Wheeling at 7:30pm. It is the start of a three game homestand that includes a game Saturday (Wheeling) and a showdown with Dayton next Tuesday (Nov. 25).
