
Condors take down Falcons, 2-1

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors topped the Fresno Falcons, 2-1, before 4,104 fans at Selland Arena on Saturday night. G Ryan Nie, playing in just his second game with the Condors, stopped 23 of 24 shots for the win.
After a back-and-forth start to the game, the Condors (4-7-1, 9pts) took a 1-0 lead at 8:32 in the first period, when F Matt Caruana dropped a pass back to C Dave Bonk, who rifled it home from the left wing circle. Shots on goal were even, 6-6, after one, but Bakersfield led on the scoreboard heading into the second.
LW Mark Derlago added to the Condors lead with a power play goal 12:09 into the second period. D Ryan Mahrle, making his Condors debut, and D Andrew Thomas registered the assists. Nie stopped all 11 Fresno shots in the frame, and the Condors led, 2-0, after two.
Fresno (8-4-1, 17pts) got on the board in the third period, when C Josh Prudden found the back of the net at 5:15, bringing the Falcons within one, 2-1. However, Nie stopped eight shots in the final frame to keep Bakersfield's lead intact for the win.

The Condors three-in-three weekend concludes with a match-up against the Stockton Thunder at Stockton Arena on Sunday at 4 p.m.

After two more road games in Phoenix next week on Wednesday and Friday, the Condors return to the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena on Saturday, Nov. 22 to host the RoadRunners.
That night, the Oakland Raiderettes come to town, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, 98.5 The Fox and Cal Water. They will perform during the intermissions, sign autographs and pose for pictures in the Condors Photo Booth throughout the night. Doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m.
Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days.
