CYCLONES HAT NIGHT

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: After dropping the opening game of their weekend series, the Cyclones look for some payback tonight as they host the Toledo Walleye for the final time in the 2013-14 regular season. While the Clones have gone 6-2-1 against their interstate foes this year, the Fish have taken three of the four meetings at U.S. Bank Arena. Since 2006, Cincinnati has posted a 36-31-2-1 record versus Toledo.

TONIGHT'S PROMOTION: DAVID MACDONALD BOBBLE-FIST NIGHT - The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a Cyclones Bobble-FIST of team captain David MacDonald courtesy of U.C. Health and Novacare!

SCOUTING THE WALLEYE: Dan Watson's club snapped their 11 game losing skid last night, but still remain at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Despite being held off the score-sheet on Friday, Travis Novak remains the Walleye scoring leader. He's notched 30 points (10 goals, 20 assists) in 42 games this year - including a team-leading 11 tallies on the power play. David Gilbert ranks second on Toledo with 29 points (13 goals, 16 assists) in 39 contests. Goaltender Hannu Toivonen turned aside 40 shots last night to earn his eighth win of the season; overall, the former Boston Bruins first round pick is 8-8-0 with a 3.55 goals-against average.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: MARCH 7, 2014: C.J. Chartrain scored the game-winning goal as the Walleye defeated the Cyclones in overtime by a 4-3 final score in front of 3,873 at U.S. Bank Arena. Although the Cyclones outshot their opponent 43-23, the Walleye escaped with the first of back-to-back games in Cincinnati this weekend. Anthony Luciani, recorded two assists in the loss as the Cyclones secured a point in the Eastern Conference standings for the fifth consecutive game.

Balanced Heroics: Ben Simon's team has found offense from all angles this year, with everyone on the active roster (excluding goalies) having earned at least a point. That trend extends to game-winners as well. Of the 32 team wins this year, 22 different players have notched the "GWG."

Outside the Box: All season long, the Cyclones have been one of the least-penalized teams in the ECHL. They're averaging the fewest penalty minutes of any team in the league (11.14 per game) and have had to kill an ECHL-low 172 power plays this season.
