Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo Wings vs Fort Wayne Komets

Tonight will be the 11th meeting out of 14 between the Kalamazoo Wings and Fort Wayne Komets. Kalamazoo leads the season series with a record of 7-3-0-0, which includes a record of 4-1-0-0 at Wings Stadium.

Kalamazoo commenced a three-game home stand last night with a decisive 6-0 victory over the South Carolina Stingrays. The K-Wings enter tonight riding a three-game overall win streak, as well as a nine-game (8-0-1-0) home unbeaten streak in regulation.

This evening is the middle-leg of a three-game road swing for the Komets. Fort Wayne started the trip with a 1-0 victory last Sunday against the Evansville IceMen. The Komets come into Wings Stadium on a three-game road winning streak.

On Wednesday ECHL proclaimed forwards Yannick Veilleux and Justin Taylor along with Cincinnati Cyclone forward Jonathan Hazen as their AMI Graphics Plus/Minus Award recipients for February. Veilleux, Taylor and Hazen all finished the month at +11.

Martin Makes History

Goaltender Joel Martin recorded 27 saves for his third shutout of the season and his 14th career shutout in a K-Wings uniform. The 14 shutouts establish a new K-Wings all-time record.

Good Things Come in Threes

Forwards Ryan Del Monte and Matt Firman enter tonight looking to extend a streak. Both players come into this evening on three-game point streaks.

Nearing Double Digits

The K-Wings enter tonight on a nine-game (8-0-1-0) home unbeaten streak in regulation. The nine-game streak is the longest home unbeaten streak in Kalamazoo's ECHL history.
