TODAY'S MATCHUP: This afternoon, the Cyclones hope to wrap up their three-game weekend road trip with a victory as they battle the Jackals for the final time at First Arena this season. Elmira claimed a 4-1 victory last night, however, Cincinnati has the edge in the all-time season series, accumulating a 17-10-0-2 record since 2006. They have gone 8-8-0 at First Arena in the same stretch.

SCOUTING THE JACKALS: Elmira currently enjoys the ECHL's longest active winning streak, earning eight "W's" in a row. They've been especially tough to beat at home, earning a 13-5-0 record at First Arena in 2011-12. Mike Rajda has established himself as one of the ECHL's top scorers, ranking eighth overall with 34 points (17 goals, 17 assists). His goal totals are good four fourth-most in the league. Rookie Dustin Gazley has impressed in his first year or pro hockey, collecting 30 points (8 goals, 22 assists) in 33 games including a 3-point game last night. With Brian Stewart in the AHL, Timo Pielmeier has assumed the starting role for Elmira of late, collecting a 7-5-0 record in 14 appearances with a 2.97 goals-against average.

About Last Night in Elmira: Louis Caporusso's second period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Jackals defeated the Cyclones by a 4-1 score in front of 3,474 at First Arena. Chris Cahill extended his goal-scoring streak to four games with the lone Cyclones tally in the loss.

Award-Worthy: Cincinnati forward Anthony Luciani wrapped up another solid month for the Cyclones. He posted 4 goals and 7 assists in 8 games with a pair of game-winning goals. Yesterday, he was recognized for his efforts by being named ECHL Rookie of the Month. He currently ranks fifth among all first-year players in overall scoring (24 points) and leads all rookies with five power play goals.

Striking First: Cincinnati has been able to grab an early lead in many games this season. In fact, the Clones have struck first in 57.14 percent of their games and are 11-4-0-1 in such situations. Their 11 wins are the fourth-most in the ECHL when potting the game's first goal.

Pelech the Point Machine: Despite the loss last night, Mike Pelech added to his already impressive point totals. He now has 24 points in 26 games and is on pace for a career-high 69 points. His five multi-point games rank third-most on the team. He has notched a point in 13 of his last 16 games. The Cyclones are 8-4-0 this year when Pelech finds the scoresheet.
