WHEELING, WV- Peter Delmas made 40 saves on 43 shots, while Kyle Bushee and Chris Barton both posted three-point games to lead the Wheeling Nailers to a 5-3 victory Sunday afternoon against the Greenville Road Warriors.

Penalties for both clubs set the tone for the first period, as both tallies came on the power play. Chris Barton scored his 18th goal of the season on a slap shot from the high slot, with assists from Denver Manderson and Kyle Bushee. A 51-second 5-on-3 opportunity passed by for the Road Warriors, with Adam Ross and Zack Torquato in the box, but Greenville pulled through at the end of Torquato's penalty to tie the game at one. Connor Shields tipped the shot past Peter Delmas, with Jeff Caister and Francis Meilleur picking up assists on the play.

Barton wasted no time pulling the Nailers to a 2-1 lead with his second goal of the afternoon only eight seconds into the second period. Hansen earned his 16th assist of the season, while Bushee picked up his second of the game, bringing his season total to seven. The Nailers killed two penalties before Torquato sent the puck from behind the net to Mickael Bedard. Bedard gave Wheeling a two-goal lead at 14:59, from the bottom of the left circle with Bushee notching his third point through two periods.

Lombardi picked up his ninth goal of the season less than a minute into the final period to push the Nailers to a 4-1 lead. Barton earned an assist to bring his point total to three. Greenville started in on a slow comeback, as their power play brought them within one. Brett Robinson and Connor Shields notched the tallies on penalties to Barton and Dame-Malka. Jason Missiaen headed to the bench for the extra attacker, but Cody Chupp put the puck into the empty net from center ice to cap off the Nailers' 5-3 win.

In a last attempt from Greenville, Brendan Connolly took a run into the Wheeling net at Delmas, causing a mass scrum against the boards. Connolly was assessed a game misconduct, as well as two minutes for tripping, and a five minute slashing major. Greenville's Marc-Olivier Vallerand, as well as Wheeling's Manderson and Chris Clark all finished with ten-minute misconducts. A fight broke out after the final whistle, between Jeremy Gouchie and David Brownschidle, while T.J. Reynolds took a game misconduct for physical abuse of officials.

The Nailers will once again be home at WesBanco Arena again on Wednesday night, when they welcome the Toledo Walleye at 7:00.
