Cyclones Drop Shootout to Nailers

Cincinnati, OH -- The Wheeling Nailers snapped the three-game winning streak of the Cincinnati Cyclones with a 6-5 shoot-out win on Tuesday at U.S. Bank Arena.

Wheeling built a 4-2 lead after two periods, but the Cyclones rallied with three-third period goals to tie the score at 5-5 and force overtime.

Cincinnati had a power play carry over into the extra session but failed to score. In the shoot-out, Wheeling goaltender Tyler MacKay stopped all four shots he faced while Matt Elich scored the game-winning goal for the visitors.

The Cyclones close out the home portion of the 2002-03 regular season schedule with a Wednesday match-up against the Dayton Bombers tomorrow at 7:05 PM at U.S. Bank Arena.
