Playoff Dates Revealed For First Round Match Up Against San Diego Announced

Bakersfield, Calif. â The Bakersfield Condors will meet their archrivals, the San Diego Gulls, in the opening round of the 2003 Taylor Cup Playoffs. The Condors are assured of finishing in either second or third place and currently trail San Diego by one point in the standings. The two clubs have met during the first round of the playoffs in five of the last six years. Bakersfield finished the season series with a 7-5-2 record against San Diego.
Both rounds of the playoffs are best-of-seven, with the higher seed claiming home ice advantage. Regardless of whether the Condors finish in second or third place, they will open the series at home on Friday, April 11th. Should the Condors advance to the Taylor Cup Finals, the games will be played between April 25th and May 10th with specific game dates to be determined. Below is a list of dates for either a second or third place scenario.

Game One on April 11th features a ThunderStix giveaway for everyone in attendance. For Game Two the next night, there will be a Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle and Auction for the team's Go Army warm up jerseys. Everyone in attendance will have a chance to win one of five jerseys to be given away, while the rest will be auctioned off after the game. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Active 20/30 Club of Bakersfield, who will then distribute the funds to local children's charities. KGET-TV 17, Clear Channel Radio and the Active 20/30 Club are sponsoring the playoffs for the Condors.
Currently, the only way to reserve playoff seats is through season tickets and group outings. To book a group for the playoffs, contact a Condors ticket representative at 324-PUCK (7825). To qualify for a group outing and receive discounted rates, you must have a minimum of 20 people. Individual playoff game tickets will go on sale on Friday, April 4th at 10:00am.
The Condors are hosting a pair of games this weekend, including Friday night against the Anchorage Aces at 7:00pm. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Condors CD Wallet, sponsored by KUZZ 107.9 and Sierra Mist. On Saturday night, the Condors host the Fresno Falcons at 7:00pm. The first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a Cal the Baby Condor Beanie Doll sponsored by KERO 23, KNZR 1560 and Frank's Brake.
Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, which is open from 10:00am-6:00pm Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
