December 27, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Cincinnati will look to fight their way back to the North Division lead this week as they begin a home-and-home series with Toledo on Tuesday night at U.S. Bank Arena
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Sunday Evening in Wheeling: The Nailers scored three unanswered goals, two of which in the third period, to come from behind and defeat the Cyclones by a 5-4 score at WesBanco Arena on Sunday evening. Ben Street and Nick Petersen each had four points - including Street's first-career hat trick. Cincinnati had goals from four different Cyclones: Christiaan Minella, Dylan Hunter, Dustin Sproat, and Chris Clackson.
STORYLINES:
ANOTHER NOTCH ON HIS BELT: Cyclones Captain Barret Ehgoetz has hit another franchise milestone. With his game tonight, the Kincardine, Ontario native will have played in 300 career-games as a member of the Cyclones. While it leads this franchise, it also gives Ehgoetz sole possession of fifth place on the All-Time Cyclones list (dating back to the early 1990's) - passing Eric Dandenault.
CRUISING WITH CHRISTIAN: Cyclones rookie Christiaan Minella has become a force for Cincinnati of late. The former Notre Dame Fighting Irish player has registered points in four of his last six games and 8 of his last 13 - including back-to-back multi point games a couple of weeks ago. He is one of three Cyclones rookies to have a multi-point game (Sam D'Agostino and Chris Clackson are the others).
A SOPHOMORE SURGE: Cyclones second-year defenseman Kevin Roeder has already surpassed his rookie scoring totals just 29 games into the year. In 2009-10, the Glenview, Illinois native collected five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 30 games. This year, he has posted 2 goals and 4 assists in 29 games. Additionally, he has earned his first career multi-point game and first shorthanded goal this season.
