December 27, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced Monday that they have been assigned forward Eric Lampe and defenseman John de Gray by their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. Additionally, the Crunch have recalled forward John Kurtz from the Jackals while Elmira has loaned goaltender Daren Machesney to its AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Lampe, who has been with the Jackals for the majority of his rookie season, was recalled by the Crunch on Dec. 18 for his first AHL action. In two games with Syracuse this past week, he recorded one assist. The rookie from Madison, Wisconsin has seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 16 games with the Jackals. Lampe collected three goals with the Florida Everblades against the Jackals in a playoff series last season after finishing his eligibility at Quinnipiac (NCAA).

A native of Markham, Ontario, de Gray played in three games with Syracuse after being recalled from Elmira on Dec. 4 and did not register a point. The third-year pro has eight points (2g-6a) and is +6 with the Jackals this season. De Gray collected his third professional game-winning goal on Nov. 12 against South Carolina in a 5-3 victory for Elmira.

Kurtz has a goal and two assists for three points in seven games with the Jackals, while Machesney, acquired by Elmira in a trade with Victoria earlier this month, is 1-2 with a .871 save percentage and a 4.03 goals-against average with the Jackals.

Elmira returns to the ice this Wednesday in Trenton for a 7:00 p.m. game against the Devils.
