Walleye Notes
- Rankin-ing the Wings! Forward Evan Rankin continued his dominance against Kalamazoo this season with two goals and one assist on Sunday. For the season, Evan has scored 8 goals with 4 assists in just 6 contests vs. the Wings. Rankin has tied forward Andy Bohmbach for the team lead in goal scoring with 11.
- Say Hello to McCollum! Goaltender Thomas McCollum, in his first start this season with Toledo, turned aside 39 of 40 shots to collect the win. McCollum had a record of 5-10-2 with Grand Rapids this year in the American Hockey League.
- Lining them Up! The line of Andy Bohmbach, Dominic Osman, and Evan Rankin were responsible for three of the four goals against Kalamazoo. Osman went for 1 goal and 1 assist, Bohmbach added 3 assists, and Rankin 2 goals and 1 assist.
- Gametime! The week gets going on Tuesday when Toledo travels to Cincinnati to take on the Cyclones. Toledo is 2-3-1-0 this year against the Cyclones. Cincinnati will be in Toledo on Saturday to ring in the new year. On Wednesday night, the Kalamazoo Wings will be back at the Huntington Center. Toledo is 3-2-1-0 against the Wings this year.
- Promotions! Wednesday night is Ugly Holiday Sweater Night, so bring out that Holiday Sweater one more time! January 1st is High School Hockey Day with proceeds going to the Kyle Cannon fund. Three High School games (Maumee vs. Perrysburg, St. Francis vs. Northview, and Anthony Wayne vs. Clay) all prior to the Walleye game that night.
