ALTOONA, PA - It was the Ray Chang show in Sunday night's series finale between the Altoona Curve and the Trenton Thunder (AA-New York Yankees) as the Curve claimed their second out of the three game series with a 7-5 win at Blair County Ballpark.
Chang, a 25-year old middle-infielder from Kansas City, went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. The home run is Chang's first with the Curve and his first since August 15, 2007 as a member of the Portland Beavers (AAA-San Diego Padres).
Trailing 1-0 Chang cracked a double in the first inning to get the ball rolling and fellow middle-infielder Pedro Lopez drilled a two-run triple in a four-run inning to give the Curve the lead for good.
Curve starter Yoslan Herrera (8-0) remained undefeated, extending the longest unbeaten streak to begin a season in team history. Herrera tossed 6.0 innings allowing 10 hits, four runs, three earned, and struck out four in his Curve leading eighth win of the season. Reliever Scott Nestor picked up his seventh save of the season after tossing 2.0 innings and allowing just one hit and striking out three.
Miles Durham extended his hitting streak to 11 games on a 2-for-4 night with a double and two runs scored. Durham is now one game shy of his season best hitting streak of 12 games while playing with the Lynchburg Hillcats (A-Advanced) from 5/22 - 6/3. Durham also has now hit in 18 consecutive games that he has started for the Curve dating back to 7/10.
