Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA- The Altoona Curve have announced their own plan to battle the current recession in the United States economy by introducing the "Curve Economic Stimulus Plan". The goal of this plan is to stimulate the economy by giving the first 1,000 fans (15 & over) who walk through the gates for the Curve's Sunday, April 20th home game five dollars to spend freely at Blair County Ballpark.
The Curve's stimulus payment will come in the form of a $5 Curve Gift Card, which can be used freely by fans at Blair County Ballpark toward food, merchandise or ticket purchases any time during the 2008 season. Unlike the federal government, whose economic stimulus payments will vary in amount based on number of children and other factors, all Curve stimulus payments are created equal.
The "Curve Economic Stimulus Bill" was introduced by Curve Secretary of State E. Todd "Parney" Parnell and signed today by President Charles M. Greenberg.
"President Bush estimated that the government's stimulus package will account for more than $152 billion this year, but our 'Curve Economic Stimulus Plan' is much more measurable and we're excited to provide this great kick start to the economy," said President Greenberg. "Coming to Curve games at Blair County Ballpark has always been a fun, affordable, fan-friendly experience, but never before have fans been able to line up and literally be handed five dollars to freely spend."
"It's rather quite simple and economists should applaud this move," added Greenberg. If (Federal Reserve Chairman) Ben Bernanke has any questions he can reach us at 877-99-CURVE. We'll even pay for the phone call."
Those fans who do not qualify for the Curve Economic Stimulus Plan (Kids 14 & under) shouldn't feel left out when attending the Sunday, April 20th game at 3:05 p.m. at Blair County Ballpark. Kids will receive a Curve Growth Chart (first 2,000) and have the opportunity to participate in a Kids Clinic with Curve players starting at 9 a.m. Plus, following the game, all kids are invited to run the bases courtesy of Thomas Chevrolet of Bedford.
To order tickets to the April 20th game or any upcoming Altoona Curve home game fans can visit the Blair County Ballpark Ticket Office or call 877-99-CURVE. Fans can also order seats to any 2008 Curve home game by logging on to AltoonaCurve.com.
