Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT - The Beloit Sky Carp got another fantastic outing from M.D. Johnson, but couldn't get the bats going in a 5-1 loss to South Bend on a beautiful Wednesday night at ABC Supply Stadium.
A crowd of 1,678 enjoyed 80's night, along with the pitching of Johnson, who allowed just two runs in seven innings to lower his ERA to 2.92 on the season.
The Sky Carp offense could only muster one run, which came on an RBI single by Ynmanol Marinez to plate Cody Morissette in the fourth inning to knot the game at 1-1.
South Bend added a run in the fifth and three more in the eighth to pull away for the victory.
The Sky Carp and Cubs will play game three of the series Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. It's Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark, with discounted prices on Busch Light and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Thursday also features a Tap Takeover featuring six different microbrews which will be served at Craft Beer Corner in Food Truck Alley in right field.
