LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps won, 8-3, in the series opener versus West Michigan - Fort Wayne's first second half victory. Max Ferguson and Cole Cummingshad multi-hit High-A debuts and Jarryd Dale homered.
DEBUTS: On Tuesday, the Padres promoted infielders Max Ferguson and Cole Cummings to the TinCaps from the Single-A Lake Elsinore Storm, while infielder Wyatt Hoffman and outfielder Angel Solarte were transferred to Lake Elsinore... Ferguson and Cummings combined to reach base seven times in 10 plate appearances combined in their debuts respectively. The last four current TinCaps to debut (Ferguson, Cummings, Lucas Dunn, and Matthew Acosta) have combined to hit 9-for-15, 2 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 3 BB, and 2 SB.
MAX FERGUSON: Leads all of professional baseball in stolen bases with 52, including his first as a TinCap on Tuesday. The current MLB leader is Jon Berti of the Marlins with 22, while 2nd in MiLB is another Padres prospect, Esteury Ruiz, a 2018 TinCap who's stolen 49 bags this year between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso.
ROBERT HASSELL: 2nd in the MWL in average (.309), 3rd in hits (71), 5th in RBIs (42), 7th in stolen bases (19) and total bases (111), 10th in OBP (.371) and OPS (.854).
LUCAS DUNN: Since joining the TinCaps on May 31, Dunn has been the most prolific hitter in away games. His 15 hits, 28 total bases, 3 home runs, and 14 RBIs on the road lead the team (no other TinCap has more than 8 RBIs).
COREY ROSIER: Leads the MWL in runs (52), while ranking 4th in both stolen bases (21) and triples (5), and 5th in walks (42; 16%), and ... On a season-long 9-game hitting streak since June 18. With one more hit, he would match Fort Wayne's season-best of 10.
CAUGHT 'EM: TinCaps catchers lead the league in throwing out runners trying to steal (26 CS). Individually, Brandon Valenzuela leads with 17, while Anthony Vilar has nabbed 7 of 19, and Adam Kerner has caught 2.
PATIENT: The TinCaps lead the MWL in walks drawn (4.3 per game) and also have struck out the 2nd fewest times in the MWL (8.6 per game)... The Whitecaps ranks 2nd in walks and have struck out the least.
MISCELLANEOUS: The TinCaps are 24-10 when scoring first (71% win rate) and 4-32 when they don't (11%)... Fort Wayne is 6-9 in 1-run games, 4-10 in 2-run games, and 0-2 in extra-innings.
