Tri-City ValleyCats News Release
TROY, NY - On a chilly night at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, the Tri-City ValleyCats and Lake Erie Crushers met in their second matchup of a three-game set.
The Crushers started the game with a two-run top of the first, with a home run from Bryant Flet that plated Keenan Irrizary to give Lake Erie the lead early on. It was all Crushers early as Jack Harris belted his third homer of the series in the top of the third off of Matt Mercer, who surrendered three earned runs in his three innings of work Wednesday night.
Lake Erie would plate two more in the top half of the seventh inning, as Ermindo Escobar and Kokko Figueiedo scored on walks by ValleyCats reliever Eddy Tavarez.
Tri-City would get on the board in the bottom half of the seventh, plating three runs thanks in part to a Brantley Bell RBI fielder's choice and a two-RBI single from Jesus Lujano.
The 'Cats would load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Sam Curtis stranded the bases juiced, striking out Brad Zunica to end the game.
FINAL | LAKE ERIE 5 TRI-CITY 3
