Syracuse Crunch News Release
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After two scoreless periods, Michael Bournival scored twice in the final frame to give the Syracuse Crunch a 2-1 win over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms tonight at the War Memorial Arena.
Along with Bournival, Erik Condra also recorded a two-point night with the primary assist on both goals. The victory advances Syracuse to 32-18-2-3 on the season and pushes the team to second in the North Division. The teams split the home-and-home season series against Lehigh Valley, 1-1.
Eddie Pasquale earned the win with 31 saves in net for the Crunch. Phantoms goaltender Dustin Tokarski stopped 29-of-31. Syracuse was held scoreless on three power play opportunities and went a perfect 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
The Crunch opened scoring 8:53 into the third period. Condra skated the puck down the left wing and left a drop pass to tee up Bournival for a shot from the circle. Mitchell Stephens recorded the secondary helper.
Five minutes later, Matt Read evened the score when he stole the puck at the Phantom's blue line and beat Pasquale shorthanded.
Bournival netted the game-winner with 2:44 remaining in the game. Mat Bodie threw the puck towards the net for Condra to redirect. Tokarski made the initial stop, but Bournival was able to poke in the rebound from along the goal line.
The Crunch are back at home to host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins tomorrow at 7 p.m.
Single game tickets and packages are on sale now and can be purchased in person at the Crunch office located inside the War Memorial Arena at 800 S.
