
Crunch and New Era Cap Company to Host 'Crunch vs. Cancer'

Syracuse, NY (April 6, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch and the Crunch Foundation, the club's charitable arm, announced today that they are teaming up with New Era Cap Company for âCrunch vs. Cancer,' an awareness night for pediatric cancer, at the Crunch's home game on Thursday, April 7 vs. Norfolk at 7 p.m.
The Crunch will be selling a limited number of âCrunch vs. Cancer' baseball caps created by New Era Cap Company to raise funds for Caps for Kids. The black adjustable caps feature âSYR' in white outlined in orange on the front and âCrunch vs. Cancer' with a gold ribbon on the back. The caps will be sold for $20 at the merchandise stand beginning at 6 p.m.
In addition, several Central New York non-profit organizations focused on pediatric cancer awareness and research will be in attendance, including members of Golisano Children's Hospital, Jonathan Cancer Fund, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York, Maureen's Hope Foundation, Mira's Movement, Paige's Butterfly Run, Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY and Upstate Cancer Center. Fans are encouraged to visit their concourse tables to learn about how they can help in the fight against pediatric cancer.
In addition, select non-profits will be selling raffle tickets for the chance to win Crunch prizes. Proceeds from raffle ticket sales, along with proceeds from the Crunch Foundation Prize Wheel and a portion of ticket sales will benefit Central New York non-profit organizations in attendance.
