
Panthers Recall Kennedy from Rochester; Assign Plante to Amerks

(Rochester, NY)... Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled forward Tim Kennedy from the Rochester Americans. In a related move, the Panthers also assigned goaltender Tyler Plante to the Amerks.
Kennedy, 24, earns his second recall of the year to Florida. He played in three games earlier this season (March 8-12), averaging 10:08 in ice time. For his NHL career, Kennedy has played in 82 games with Buffalo (2008-10) and Florida (2011), scoring 10 goals with 16 assists and 50 PIM. Kennedy has played in 13 games with Rochester this season, notching seven assists.
The Buffalo, NY native was acquired by Florida on Feb. 26, 2011 along with a third-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Bryan McCabe. Kennedy was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the sixth-round (No. 181 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Florida (29-38-12) visits the Washington Capitals tonight at 7:oo p.m. The game can be heard live on Sports Radio 560 WQAM.
Plante, 23, returns to Rochester after earning his second NHL recall this season, though he has yet to appear in a regular season game with the Panthers. In 34 American Hockey League games with the Amerks this season, Plante has posted a 13-16-2 record with a 3.06 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. Plante was also recognized earlier this season as the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 27th. The Milwaukee, Wisc. native was selected by Florida with its second-round choice (32nd overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The Amerks return home on Friday, April 8th as they close out their season series with the Binghamton Senators at The Blue Cross Arena. Fans can tune in for all the live action starting at 7:35 p.m. on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet.
