
Crombeen Joins Steelheads

Boise, ID - The Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL announced today right winger B.J. Crombeen has been reassigned by the club's NHL affiliate, the Dallas Stars.
Crombeen, a 21-year-old power forward began the season with Assat Pori of the Finnish Elite League, where he totaled 22 points (13, 9a) and 152 penalty minutes in 55 games. Last year as a rookie, Crombeen split the campaign between the AHL and the ECHL, spending the majority of the season with the Steelheads' AHL affiliate, the Iowa Stars. In 52 games with the Stars, he posted five goals and seven assists. After joining the Steelheads on January 30, 2006, the dual citizen of the United States and Canada recorded eight points in eight games at the ECHL level, before heading back to Iowa where he wrapped up the season.
Prior to turning pro, Crombeen played four seasons with the Barrie Colts of the OHL. His most productive year of junior hockey came in 2003-2004, when he tallied 21 goals and 29 helpers in 62 games. Originally selected 54th overall by Dallas in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Crombeen racked up 170 points and 516 penalty minutes in 248 career OHL contests.
In a separate transaction, the Steelheads also announced that rookie center Charlie Johnson has been activated off the 3-day IR. Johnson has 15 points in 51 games this season with the Steelheads.
Both Crombeen and Johnson are expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Steelheads begin a four-game, six-day road trip against the Stockton Thunder. The puck drops at 8:05 p.m. MST.
