
Wranglers clip Falcons in shootout, 5-4

LAS VEGAS, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers® defeated the Fresno Falcons 5-4 on Tuesday night in front of 3,429 fans at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' winger Marco Peluso had a goal and two assists in the win. Goalie Mike McKenna stopped 28 shots in the game, and all five shooters in the shootout for his 19th win of the season. Falcons' winger Rob McFeeters scored twice in the loss. The Wranglers will face the Phoenix Roadrunners at the Orleans Arena on Friday, March 16th at 7:05pm (PST).
In the first period, Arpad Mihaly tallied just 58-seconds into the contest to give Las Vegas the early 1-0 advantage. Fresno answered back at 6:33, as Rob McFeeters scored his first of the night, tying the game 1-1. McFeeters tallied his second goal just five minutes later to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead.
In the second period, Las Vegas defenseman Scott Schoneck scored his sixth goal of the season, tying the game 2-2. The Falcons moved ahead with just 1:22 left in the second, as defenseman Cory Murphy fired a shot through traffic, past Mike McKenna, giving the Falcons a 3-2 lead.
In the third period, Wranglers' forward Steve Crampton redirected a Jason Krischuk shot and beat Scott Stirling, tying the game 3-3. The Wranglers took the lead when Marco Peluso snapped a wrist shot into the net for his 14th goal of the season, giving the Wranglers a 4-3 lead. The Falcons tied the game with 2:02 left in regulation, as Matt O'Dette notched his fourth goal of the season, sending the game to overtime.
After a scoreless overtime period, Mike McKenna stopped all five Fresno shooters in the shootout and Tyler Mosienko scored the lone Wranglers shootout goal to give Las Vegas the win.
The Wranglers will wear specialty "Hawaiian Jerseys" when they conclude a seven-game home stand on Friday night by hosting Phoenix at 7:05 pm. After road games in Phoenix, Long Beach and Bakersfield, the Wranglers will return home on Tuesday, March 27th to host Bakersfield at 7:05 pm.
