
Everblades see changes to roster

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today several changes to the roster. Everblades forward Brad Parsons and goaltender Justin Peters were both recalled to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League, while the club also signed goaltender Josh Johnson out of the University of Minnesota Duluth to a contract.
Johnson joins the Everblades after completing his senior season with the UMD Bulldogs where he compiled an 8-7-2 record in 18 games. The 23-year-old finished the 2006-07 campaign with a 2.14 goals against average and an .922 save percentage. In four seasons with Minnesota Duluth the Esko, Minnesota native played in 51 games, going 22-20-4 with a 2.71 GAA and a .905 save percentage.
Parsons makes his first trip to the AHL since his rookie season by joining the River Rats. The 27-year-old has 26 points (10g, 16a) in 31 games this season for the Everblades and heads to Albany having scored a point in seven of the last nine Everblade games. The Kingston, Massachusetts native is in his third professional season after spending the previous two with the South Carolina Stingrays. Parsons' first stint in the AHL came during his rookie campaign when he skated in three games with the Portland Pirates in 2004-05.
Peters returns to Albany having made one start with the Everblades that came last night in Florida's 7-6 shootout loss to South Carolina. The 20-year-old has seen action in 29 games with the River Rats this season and is 10-15-2.
