Ice Pilots gain one, lose one with Sound Tigers

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL announced today (Wednesday) two transactions with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, their American Hockey League affiliate.

The Sound Tigers reassigned forward Rob Rankin to the Ice Pilots after playing two games this week. Rankin arrived back in Pensacola on Tuesday night and will be in the line-up this weekend.

Meantime, Goaltender Michael Mole was called up to the Sound Tigers on Wednesday morning. New York Islanders' goaltender Rick DiPietro was injured when he collided with a Montreal Canadiens' forward during Tuesday night's game. DiPietro is being re-evaluated on Wednesday. The Islanders return to action on Thursday when they face the Senators in Ottawa.

Hockey's Back at The Hangar this weekend when the Pensacola Ice Pilots return with two games. On Friday, the Ice Pilots host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 pm. It's 'All Faith Night' and area Churches are invited to bring their groups out to the game. There will be two guest speakers including Dr. Ted Traylor from Olive Baptist Church and injured Ice Pilots forward Dallas Steward.

Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the Ice Pilots on Saturday when they entertain the South Carolina Stingrays also at 7:05 pm. The Ice Pilots will wear their St. Patty's Day jerseys and an auction follows after the game.
