COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 14, 2007) - Head Coach Troy Mann announced today that center Jeff Miles has been called-up to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League. This is his first call up to the AHL this season.

The Pickering, Ontario native has previously played for five other AHL teams including the Norfolk Admirals (2003-04), Manchester Monarchs (2004-05), Milwaukee Admirals and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (2005-06). He has played in 40 AHL games throughout his career.

"This is a great opportunity for Jeff to showcase his talents at the AHL level. He has certainly proven to be an elite player in the ECHL and this will give him another chance to prove himself with a great organization like the Hershey Bears", said Coach Mann. "It is unfortunate that we are losing our top scorer at this time of year but it is our job to develop and promote our players to the next level."

Leading the Inferno in scoring, Miles has appeared in 60 games, scoring 26 goals and 37 assists for 63 points.

The Inferno host the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, March 16th at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, March 18th at 5:05 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 251-2222 or visiting the Carolina Coliseum Box Office on Greene Street.
