Crawford Gets The Call

February 22, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release

Chicago, Ill.-Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled goaltender Corey Crawford from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League for the second time in as many weeks. Crawford was sent to the big club after Nikolai Khabibulin left practice early today with back spasms.

Crawford has appeared in 46 games for Rockford this season posting a record of 24-15-5 with 2 shutouts, a 2.78 goals against average, and a .909 save percentage. He was the backup to Patrick Lalime on Feb. 14 in the Blackhawks' 6-1 win at Nashville.

Crawford was the Blackhawks' 2nd round pick (52nd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Correspondingly, the IceHogs have signed former University of Wisconsin-Stout goaltender Jeffrey Dotson to a 25-day professional try-out contract. He will be available to back up starter Wade Flaherty in tonight's game in Milwaukee.
