Rochester Americans News Release

Amerks Head Coach Randy Cunneyworth looks for win number 300 tonight as the Rochester Americans face-off against the Binghamton Senators at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. contest between the two teams is being broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. Cunneyworth needs only one more victory to become only the second coach in the 52-year history of the Rochester Americans to win 300 games. He trails only John Van Boxmeer (333) on the team's all-time coaching list. Earlier this season, Cunneyworth joined Van Boxmeer as the only Amerks' coach to work 600 regular season games behind the bench.

Rochester enters the game after trapping the Albany River Rats with 2-1 overtime win Wednesday night at The Blue Cross Arena. Anthony Stewart struck just 1:30 into the extra frame to help the Amerks improve to 17-33-4-4 this season. Rochester has gone 5-3-2-0 in its last 10 and have won four of its last six. Further, the Amerks have collected points in five of their last six games. Adam Dennis has improved his record of late to 14-17-2 with a 2.93 goals against average. Dennis also improved his save percentage to .903% with three shutouts. Mark Mancari leads the team with 41 points (15+26). Right on his heels is the red hot Marc-Andre Gragnani with 35 points (7+28). Gragnani is currently on an eight-game point streak, notching three goals and six assists. Gragnani leads the team in assists with 28 on the year. His 35 points currently ranks him seventh among league rookies. Marek Zagrapan and Stefan Meyer are tied for the team lead in scoring with 16 apiece, one ahead of Mancari.

This thruway battle will be the fifth time the Amerks and Senators meet this season. The Amerks look to gain their first point against Binghamton this season after having fallen victim in all four previous meetings between the two teams, allowing an average of four goals per game. The Amerks and Sens will meet three more times after tonight's game. Rochester is 0-4-0 this season and 18-20-4 all-time against the Ottawa Senators' affiliate.
