Coyotes Recall Gormley from Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Brandon Gormley from the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Gormley has recorded 6-28-34 and 32 penalty minutes (PIM) in 52 games for the Pirates this season. He ranks second on the team in games, third in assists and fifth in scoring. Gormley ranks first on Portland and eighth among all AHL defensemen in points.

The 22-year-old native of Murray River, Prince Edward Island has appeared in 120 games with the Pirates in his career, totaling 11-52-63 and 76 PIM. Gormley was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (13th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.
