Countdown to Face-Off

It's the start of a very important divisional weekend for the Kalamazoo Wings and the Wheeling Nailers. The top two teams in the North Division will square off three straight nights. On the season, the K-Wings are 2-2-0-1 against the Nailers.

Continuing to find ways to earn points, Kalamazoo extended their unbeaten in regulation streak to 14 games (11-0-0-3) on Wednesday with a 4-3 shootout loss to the Toledo Walleye. Besides the unbeaten streak, the K-Wings have won two straight on the road and are unbeaten in seven straight road contests (5-0-0-2).

Playing their final of nine scheduled contests in neighboring Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the Wheeling Nailers are 5-2-0-1 this season at the Cambria County War Memorial. Training Kalamazoo by six points for the top spot in the North Division, Wheeling hopes to end the weekend in a first place tie.

It's Been a While

Tonight will mark the first time since February 19th that the K-Wings have played a team other than Cincinnati or Toledo. Kalamazoo's last opponent that wasn't from the Buckeye state was February 14th, when they defeated the Wheeling Nailers 3-2 at Wings Stadium.

A Perfect 10

Forward Trent Daavettila enters this evening on a 10-game point streak. Daavettila, who holds the K-Wings' season-high for consecutive games with a point with 12, has notched 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists) over the course of his current streak.

Heating Up

Forwards Patrick Asselin and Andrew Fournier have been on a scoring tear. Asselin is currently on a seven-game point streak, as well as a four-game goal streak; while Fournier has registered at least five straight games

Keep on Rolling

Kalamazoo enters tonight unbeaten in regulation in 14 straight (11-0-0-3) games and on a season-high seven-game road unbeaten streak (5-0-0-2). The 14-game streak is not only a team-high, but it's also the longest unbeaten streak this season in the ECHL.
